new user wants same old information .... Autocad 2010

Hello .....

All my programs are open source except for Autocad. I am currently running 2010.

I am "tinkering" with linux. I just ran Mint Cinnamon 17 off a DVD ... everything works great.

My problem is Autocad. Before changing over my machine from Windows 7 to Linux, I need to see if I can run this program.

I know there are alternative programs but I have used Autocad for more years than I can count and all my clients run it so I need to stay 100% compatible with them.

Any advice you can give ????

The AppDB test reports say it doesn't work. The reports are all very old, and the only way to tell for sure is to test it yourself in current Wine, but based on http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12532, I wouldn't be optimistic.

I will try it just for the fun of it but should I assume ( since it looks like this has been a problem for several years that no one has been able to solve ) no one will be able to make autocad work with Linux for the foreseeable future?
