running grand ages : rome reign of augustus on wine help

First off, i am unfamiliar with most of the details and functions of how wine works, but i had no problems running grand ages rome by itself through wine, yet after downloading the expansion and opening it with winefiles it gives me the loading screen for a few seconds and then no sound, a black screen and only the stylised mouse icon. please help i am beyond stumped

You haven't provided enough information. What OS you are using, what's your Wine version? If it is not 1.7.18 or higher, try upgrading. If after upgrade you still have the problem, read the FAQ how to get terminal output:

If you're not sure of the number, what makes you so sure it's the latest?
