How can I upgrade from Knoppix Wine 1.5 to 1.7 via terminal?

Post by chosenbygrace »

I tried removing wine completely from my microknoppix 7.2 USB install since trying to use synaptic to install wine 1.7 kept giving me a fix broken packages error (even though I tried everything except manually removing since I don't know where the wine folder is in my install, where is it?) and end up having to download 1.5 since that's all that would work. Is there a simply terminal way to upgrade it now to 1.7 latest, because I tried adding the ubuntu wine repository using the terminal since that was the only answer i could find and it tells me it doesn't recognize that command, as in the apt-get-repository. I even tried replacing ubuntu with debian and debianwheezy but those failed too.

Binary packages are built by the distros; ask your distro where to get the right one. If there is none, you can always build Wine from source.
