Was there a solution for this problem?
I am having the same problem with the log window and process opening on
screen.
I have also tried all the options in this post and none works. I am using
Wine 1.0

in the preferences command-comma under the tab headed change the
radio-button for the left and the right side to either a file or null
(which I assume means no output whatsoever). If that does not work then
you might just have to deal with it and hide the application with
command-h since the wine applications are running under x11.app anyhow.

If you're referring to the tab labeled "Redirections," I already have
the radio buttons for both "redirct stdout" and "redirect stderr"
selected for "null" but it isn't stopping Wine Log and (sometimes) a
"Wine Processes" window from opening. I don't know if they are products
of Wine or X11...
