Just completed a fresh install of Darwine 1.0b and Xquartz to fix some application issues and discovered when I downloaded and installed the Windows version of Firefox I get the following series of errors. This is a partial log since the errors just continue as long as Firefox is open until either WineHelper crashes or Firefox crashes. I have manually downloaded Flash from the adobe site, it helped slow down the rate of errors a bit. I've also installed several of the winetricks but no change.
Any ideas?

"/Applications/Darwine/Wine.bundle/Contents/bin/wine --version" to find
out.
And i'm seeing the same messages with Darwine/Wine 1.1.0 + Firefox 3. It
looks like its just a bunch of functions that aren't implemented by wine
yet.
The "fixme:xrender:X11DRV_AlphaBlend Unable to AlphaBlend without Xrender"
message is a fault of Apple's X11 having some bugs in it still, not of
Wine.

Zach - Thanks for responding.
Version number is "wine-1.0" using your command in Terminal.
I'm not 100% positive but I am pretty sure I had Firefox 3 running in my prior build of Darwine which was downloaded from http://www.kronenberg.org/darwine/. I had to switch to the version from http://thisismyinter.net/?p=47 to enable printing. (You can see my thread in this forum http://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?t=1558 if it is of any help.)
Should I uninstall Firefox 3 and go back to version Firefox 2? Will I break gecko if I uninstall Firefox?
That X11 error is interesting because part of my rebuild this morning included downloading and installing X11 from Xquartz which I thought was supposed to get me past all of those Apple X11 errors.
Really appreciate the input.

kronenberg.org to test to see if it really was working or not. I dont see
why this would be different from build to build - though i was surprised
to hear printing worked for one and not the other... though the builds
from thisismyinter.net are built on a leopard system, while kronenberg.org
are from a tiger system, so it could be a lib apple shipped that
changed/was added in..
I dont see why it would break gecko. But i'm not too well versed in it,Should I uninstall Firefox 3 and go back to version Firefox 2? Will I
break gecko if I uninstall Firefox?
so maybe someone else could answer?

software update. It is not perfect yet though. It is being worked on.
Albeit by one person at Apple in whatever time they have free.

Zach - That's great info. Thanks.
Since you are getting the same error with 1.1.0 guess I'll hold on to 1.0 for the moment.
If I don't get any other input on the gecko thing I'll go ahead and uninstall Firefox 3 and see what happens with Firefox 2.
It's taken me a lot of hours to get my printing function back -- started working on this on 6/30 -- so I'm a bit hesitant to experiment with this configuration. That said, I love the idea though of renaming the .wine to .wine.bak. If I did that and needed to restore the .wine.bak file back to it's original use do I rename it back to ".wine", or ".wine." (sorry for such a newbie question but I'm still learning linux). Do I need to do the same thing with plist file or are all the changes consolidated into the .wine file?
Again, thanks for the input and for the quick responses.

org.wine.winehelper.plist is located in ~/Library/Preferences. You do not
need to touch this for problems with Wine. org.wine.winehelper.plist
affects WineHelper.app (The thing that lets you double click .exe's), not
Wine itself.

Went ahead and uninstalled Firefox 3 and installed Firefox 2. Solved those earlier errors but now I get all of the old X11 driver errors and the resulting poor interface in Firefox (no icons, etc.). Not as nice looking as Firefox 3 but it works and it doesn't appear that gecko broke.
More alarmingly, for the first time in all of my various Wine builds I'm having WineHelper hang and having to use the "Force Quit" to clear the problem. Another possible symptom is I tried to install one of the programs I had on my earlier Darwine build and now it won't install. The last time I installed it (on the kronenburg 1.0 build) it installed in 5 minutes with no errors. Now all I get is errors and a hang. Do I have a problem with this Darwine build or is this normal?
