Roots Magic6 Bug # 34197

Post by rpf333 »

Hi:
I'm a newby to linux and wine. Iam running linux Mint 13 distro and Wine 1.4. I am trying to run Roots Magic6 and found that there is a identified bug # 34197 and what appears to me to be a workaround using Winetricks. I downloaded what I am assuming is the workaround file from the site which they called an attachment. My problem is now that I have downloaded this attachment, I haven't found any instructions on what and how do I do with it, to make the workaround to fix the bug. I have searched for answers in the Winetricks wiki but do not know enough to know how to even ask an intelligent question. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If I can't get Roots Magic to work I plan to uninstall Wine because this is the only Windows program I want to work in linux. Thank you for your help.

The attachment to that bug is just a log. It has nothing to do with the workaround, which is to install gdiplus with winetricks. http://wiki.winehq.org/winetricks

FYI, you should also upgrade Wine, as 1.4 is no longer supported.

Thank you for your quick reply. I will upgrade as you suggest and try again to understand winetricks commands from the wiki
