This concerns Wine 1.7.14 and Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 32-bit.
I have succesfully earlier installed FM8, Absynth 5 and Massive. I needed to mount their (downloaded) .iso files, but after that the installation worked and those VSTs work fine.
But now I bought Monark and Razor. Both need Reaktor Player, which was installed OK earlier with some of the previous synths.
But now, when I mount Monark or Razor .iso:s, both installations stop with dialog which says "Please Insert Monark" or "Please Insert Razor" respectively. It seems that there is something fishy, maybe more than one file systems on these .iso:s. Archive Manager's view is different than in Nautilus. Hidden files, probably.
Anybody who has any success with these?
I even tried to burn .iso files to real DVDs, but with same end result.
Native Instruments Monark, Razor install problem please help
Re: Native Instruments Monark, Razor install problem please
I tried to add files of both hidden and visible sides of the .iso to one .iso file and then run a .msi installer. Now it says "Please run from original DVD.". Sigh. Is there really no one using these synths?

What happens when you try that?Markku wrote:Now it says "Please run from original DVD."
Note that pirated software is not supported here, so if you don't have a legal copy, this topic will be closed.
Re: Native Instruments Monark, Razor install problem please
I said already that I bought all of those synths I mentioned. Problem is, those .iso files are downloads. NI sells electronic versions.
Now I can't install them, because of those problems. I tried (as I said) to burn them to real DVD media. Still same problem.

Re: Native Instruments Monark, Razor install problem please
Since you say you found hidden files: have you tried mounting the iso or dvd with norock? http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#head-7b61ed5 ... 27082b1c41
Other than that, are you sure the downloaded iso is good? Have you checked the md5sum and/or tried it in Windows? Same with the DVD--are you sure it wasn't a bad burn?

Re: Native Instruments Monark, Razor install problem please
Thanks, dimesio, for answering!
Download was good. There was many steps after that, which worked OK. I can open .iso files with Archive Manager. Also, it's remarkably unprobable that two separate installers would fail exactly same way if it would be corrupt download. I wouldn't like to try it in Windows, because it would need the whole NI activation env. and that's a pain to install. Our family still *have* one Windows PC (my son plays games...), but I'm not even sure if it would invalidate the license for my Wine env. which is my main workplace...
I will try that norock. I think I tried iso9660 already.
Worst thing is, there are reports that say that older Razor worked in Linux. It might be that the newer installers are even more hostile to Linux... Not a nice trend.

Holy...
dimesio, you're a genius! That
sudo mount -o remount,unhide /dev/sr0 /media/Razor
did the trick! Both Monark and Razor installed flawlessly!
BIG HUGE THANK YOU!
