How risky is Wine?

Hello everyone,
I'm a little new to ubuntu and I needed to install metastock on it because there is nearly no alternative on linux.
so, I found out that wine is a great tool to help me with such a task.
installed it, played COD MW2, and I gotta say it is fantastic.

but i'm a little worried about how safe it is.

one of the most amazing things about ubuntu is its safty, and when i installed wine, i can run most windows applications just with a double click, so what is gonna prevent a virus from running?

So there is a risk, but not so much risky like normal windows using..
