Is it possible to give full permission to the .wine folder across two distros on a seperate partition?
The World of Warcraft bug http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35582 has broken my 64 bit client. I finally gave up on trying to run it with wine 32 bit from my 64 bit OS. For now I'm running ubuntu 13.10 32 bit on one 70gb partition, Ubuntu 13.10 64 bit on another 70gb partition, and i have a 700gb "files" partition where i'm keeping pretty much everything else. ( photos, videos, .wine, etc). I'm running into permissions issues due to wow having to edit files in the .wine folder when i log out.
All 3 partitions are EXT4.
Can't post the image either lol. Here's a link. https://www.dropbox.com/s/1r3t8elbpbjrx ... 7%3A14.jpg
Share .wine folder across partitions?
Re: Share .wine folder across partitions?
As long as your user is the owner of the wineprefix in both operating systems, there shouldn't be a problem.
Re: Share .wine folder across partitions?
That worked perfectly. I didn't realize that it could be done on two different operating systems. Kinda thought it had to be done on the shared partition level. Thanks a lot!
