Compiling/Installing WINE on steamos
Compiling/Installing WINE on steamos
I've hit a roadblock compiling wine for steamos, it has troubles finding the C standard library when running the configuration script. Any help would be welcome.

Re: Compiling/Installing WINE on steamos
SteamOS is a locked down version of Debian Linux. I myself personally gave up trying to use it as a desktop. There is a way to install SteamOS over the top of a Debian install that might be helpful to you, as package management will start working normally again. My theory here is that you are having a hard time finding this because it is not there, and you would then have trouble installing it because it won't be available through the Steam repos.

The advantage to adding SteamOS repos to existing Debian is SteamOS's expanding list of drivers will be installed for you. =)
Good luck. I may catch up with you if ever I just get Wine to work to begin with.

It is in no way locked out, it's completely configurable you just need to know what your doing. I don't want debian wine, im asking about an error with the configuration script for compiling it.
