Windows versions older than XP missing in winecfg

I'm using Wine 1.7.10 and even if I'm creating a new profile the oldest Windows version winecfg is showing me is Windows XP. Does anybody know why there are no older versions listed anymore?

There were no 64 bit versions of Windows prior to XP, so older versions are not available as choices in a 64 bit wineprefix. They are still present in a 32 bit wineprefix.

Thanks for the answer, this was indeed the problem. But now I'm thinking that it would be nice if it would be possible that on a 64 bit architecture winecfg would also show older systems and simply switch to a 32 bit architecture on choosing them. But maybe such a change would cause much work - so this would be maybe a feature request for the future.

You cannot change the architecture of a wineprefix after it has been created.
