login fails with Steam

Hi folks,

I found a few threads about the Steam install failing, but not this particular issue. Steam appears to have installed fine, but when I try to use my login info (for my Steam account) the app sits for a second and then closes. No error message.

Any thoughts? So far as I know I'm running the most current version of wine.

I have almost the same thing happening. I get the login screen. I put in my password then it gives me the window saying that it sent me an email. I click next enter the 5 digit code from the email and click next. It sits there for a sec and then closes, no error.

I just found this from another post.
"Current Steam will not work in any version older than 1.7.8, so if you're using an older version, upgrade. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35030"

I upgraded to 1.7.10 and now Steam works.
