Cannot activate Rosetta Stone 4.5.5

Post by mzecher »

I installed successfully Rosetta Stone 4.5.5 under Archlinux running Wine 1.7.10. It opens fine, but I cannot activate it because it cannot access internet (I'm connected through wifi).

Internet Explorer under wine is able to connect just fine, so I think that the problem is something missing for Rosetta and not a Wine configuration problem. I googled a lot, but couldn't really find a solution for this.

I would really appreciate some help to get this thing working.

This is just a guess, but an appdb entry for an older Rosetta Stone version mentions that setting wininet (and maybe rasapi32) to "native, builtin" in winecfg might help, see http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.p ... &iId=21655

Thanks a lot for answering. I tried with those overrides without luck. The problem, however, seems to be something different. I am able to run the offline features, but since I cannot activate it, it's restricted.

There are a few reports of this version of Rosetta Stone running fine and being able to connect to internet in other distributions, so I think that I'm missing some package or library.
