wine won't run anything

I run wine 1.6 on ubuntu unity, installed with crouton on an Acer C720.

I just installed wine and tried running multiple .exe 's and all that happens is Wine Windows Program loader shows up on the taskbar and after a few seconds disappears. I tried running steam.exe and project64.exe.

Any ideas>

I already told you in your other thread that Steam will not work in any version of Wine older than 1.7.8. Repeating the question will not change that.

One thread is enough. I'm locking this one.
