I need help with an AVIgenerator / wine error...

i'm on an imac running mavericks.

i'm trying to convert .264 files to .avi, and i went thru this whole process of installing xquartz and wine and avigen, but every time i try to convert the file, i get the following error message:

the program avigen has encountered a serious problem and needs to close.

suggestions?

Maybe because the avi Container isn't compatible with the H264-Codec!
Why do you want to use avi? Mp4 is the best container for H264 and for Mac OS.
