hello . ive noticed an issue while upgrading wine
wine 1.4 works on all of my games
when i changed it to wine 1.6 all d3d dependent games are not showing video but sounds are working
and i continued to update it to wine 1.7 and now all games are not showing video but with sounds

One possibility is that you used overrides or other tweaks for 1.4 that are no longer needed in newer Wine versions. Unnecessary overrides can prevent apps from working.
Try reinstalling to a clean wineprefix in current Wine. If it still doesn't work, post terminal output.

sudo apt-get purge wine
sudo apt-get purge wine1.7
rm -rf ~/.wine
then i reinstall the wine
sudo apt-get install wine1.7
sudo apt-get install wine
then id try to run papermonster which work on old wine1.4 but not on wine1.6 and wine1.7

jhay06 please do wine --version to make sure you have the wine version you expect. The reinstall pattern you just used can land you with 1.4.1 at times.

WINENOPULSE=1 wine program.exe might a idea by one of the other bugs in there.

regression testing instructions presume you have everything setup to build wine correctly. In your case you don't. No audio most graphics(x11 2d only) missing opengl so no direct or opengl. So basically be thankful freetype was missing.

Is that output from Wine you built yourself? That's what those recommended packages are for--building Wine. Installing them is not going to change anything about the Wine you installed from a package.
Even if that is from the Wine you built, there is no point in posting more output showing your game doesn't work in current Wine. We already know that. What you need to do is run the regression test.

i run the "make" script it takes 4 hours to finish building wine.
then i run some of my installed games

but no change .. no graphics at all
