Problems with RPG maker games on Wine?

So I was trying to run Ib on Ubuntu, and whenever I try to launch it gives me "Unexpected error occured[sic] when running the game." And I'm not sure what the problem is. Did I misconfigure something in Wine? Is there something wrong with the program? Is this a problem with Wine itself? Can this be fixed? I'd really appreciate some help.

That message means the program crashed. As to why and whether there's anything you can do about it, there's no way to tell from what you've posted.

What Wine version are you using? If it's not the latest development release, upgrade.

There's an old test report in the AppDB that mentions some native dlls that were needed in the older Wine version. Try current Wine without them first, and if it's still crashing, try adding them. http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.p ... ngId=73157

Setting winegstreamer.dll to disabled in winecfg does the job.

Oh, no problem. Thanks for the reply! I looked for "winegstreamer", but I couldn't find it in this list. Is this the tab for disabling .dll's?

yonderfork just to be an annoying the list is not fully complete. Not all internal parts of wine are listed.

Yes there is a reason why you can manually type in entries.
