Getting steam & Borderlands 2 to work in a 32-bit wineprefix

Post by Heroguy293 »

I recently created a 32-bit wine prefix so that I could play borderlands 2, since the AppDB says to create a 32-bit prefix for it to run.. Now, I am very new with using a second wineprefix... I am trying to follow the instructions on http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.p ... &iId=26674 and http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.p ... &iId=29158

I have had no success. My wineprefix is "$HOME/.wine-second" I already have a copy of the steaminstall.msi file from the steam website. I do this command:

WINEPREFIX="$HOME/.wine-second" wine /home/tyler/Downloads/SteamInstall.msi

and it reports:

wine: Bad EXE format for Z:\home\tyler\Downloads\SteamInstall.msi.

This is only the first step... any ideas?
