OS X Mavericks, any word on when it will be supported?

Post by Timon »

I really want to start using OS X Mavericks but from what I've read it would run Wine yet. Any news on when we might see Wine on Mavericks?

Thanks

doh123 could you remember to state wine version when you say something works or reference appdb?

if I were talking about an app I would... but talking about an OS.

current (and some previous versions) of Wine all compile on Mavericks, and run... I'm not sure where the info came from that Wine is not working on Mavericks.

If you are having a specific problem compiling or running Wine that seems Mavericks related, please post what it is.

doh123 sorry I read as application.

But the basics remain true state wine version and platform version it word with.

Problem we have in future we might have X version of wine + Y version of OS that don't work.

OS X Mavericks there is more than 1 version. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OS_X_Mavericks

There might be a bug in one of the developer versions or something else that started the questions.

There are no binary packages for Mac OSX. You either have to build Wine yourself (Macports is recommended) or use a third party version, which would not be supported here.

Is it possible if someone could link me to one that works with Mavericks? Even if its 3rd party. I don't have the skills to make a port myself.
