I just made the swap from Microsoft completely but I cant get guild wars to work it gets stuck on the loading screen i can see the little gold mouse which you normally get on the logon screen or if i change some settings says i have a graphic error. I used envy to install my ati drivers. The card is a ati radeon 9550.

The most recent report in the AppDB notes that this game only works in full screen mode, so that would be the first thing I'd try. There are also some other tips on getting it working, as well as links to quite a few known bugs: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.p ... n&iId=9194
This is what it looks like in xp mode. I can get startopia to run slightly better about 10 fps but theres no images on it all you see are the shadows of the people.

All your images indicate you are running the it in the virtual desktop mode. This is exactly what you've been told not to do.
I've removed all your images because none of them are relevant to the problem.

First of all what video card and what driver version? Did you disabled/removed compiz?
Why are you not using full screen mode? If it doesn't work - have you checked that you have required screen resolution configured? (run 'xrandr' and verify that it's listed)
I did turn it off i, reinstalled guild wars so it was back to full screen. But when i launch it it completely crashes and all messes up cant take any screen shots.
tom@tom-desktop:~$ 'xrandr'
Screen 0: minimum 640 x 480, current 1280 x 1024, maximum 1280 x 1024
default connected 1280x1024+0+0 0mm x 0mm
1280x1024 76.0*
1024x768 76.0
800x600 73.0
640x480 73.0
I did have compiz installed at one point but i think i removed it. I'm using a ati 9550 and i dont no what drivers how do i find out? the one in hardware drivers is ticked ATI accelerated graphics driver
