Graphics glitched? Forced manual shutdown Wine Gaming

Post by Cetriel »

I am fairly new to gaming in Wine but not Wine itself. The games themselves seem to not have much of a problem (nothing I can't deal with at least). However there seems to be some type of issue where my computer becomes completely useless. Little squares that look similar to a TV that is on but not hooked to anything pop up all over my screen. I have a picture which I will post as soon as I can figure out how to do so with my phone. I am then unable to do anything but manually restart. The unfortunate thing is most of the time (but not always) it happens when I am letting the game idle while doing something for college or work. This gets rather anoying as you can imagine due to the fact that I have to start what ever I was doing from my last save. This has happened on multiple games including Guild Wars 2 (POL) and prior to that LOTRO (which was not installed using POL which leads me to believe its a Wine issue) as well as others I had tried to get running in Wine. I will try to give you the best info I can and if anything else is needed please let me know.
