I was able to install Total Annihilation and the 3.1 patch using Wine 1.6 and Lubuntu 13.04.
However I don't get the CD music playing when the game is running.
Also I can't use any display mode in the game other than the lowest setting, 640x480.
During the install, I get an error message saying that the version of DirectX is not the same as that which is on the CDs. Wine uses the equivalent of DirectX 10, yes? I believe the original Total Annihilation game used DirectX5 or thereabouts...could this be the cause of the display mode problem?
