Crimson Skies on WINE?

Hey all

I'm trying to get Crimson Skies working on WINE and while it installs perfectly, as far as I can tell, it fails to start up, with the error message:

Sorry, Crimson Skies requires a sound card compatible with DirectX 7.0 or later. Your sound card does not appear to be compatible. Obtaining the latest drivers from the sound card manufacturer and installing them may resolve this.

Not very helpful obviously. I've tried installing a couple of relevant looking winetricks packages, but to no avail. Anyone got any ideas?

have you tried this:

winetricks sound=alsa

I dont know that game, but if there's a config file, place it here and I'll take a look

Well, that apparently fixed the sound issue, however it now just crashes :L

I shall be moving distros soon, (one with a newer version of WINE) and will try again then
