Quicken 2012 Problem
OK. This is my last question, I promise! After installing Quicken Deluxe 2012, I get this error: "Quicken requires Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later to run." Yet, according to http://source.winehq.org/source/program ... ults.c#L50, wine acts like XP with SP3. Sorry to bug you but I'm bleary-eyed from trying to get this going on my own. Previous answers have been extremely helpful. Wine is a fantastic product that I will try to help with in time. But, for now, I'm the one who needs help! What about my current problem with Quicken? Any ideas, please? Pretty please!

Wine version? If it's not the latest development release, upgrade. If it still doesn't work, post terminal output.

Re: Quicken 2012 Problem
BTW I get exactly the same problem with Microsoft Money Sunset. I'm running wine 1.6-rc4. The text of the error I get with Money is: Microsoft Money requires Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 or a more recent update. This box runs Linux 3.8.0-25-generic #37-Ubuntu SMP Thu Jun 6 20:47:07 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux. Hope this helps with my problem.

Re: Quicken 2012 Problem
Edit to previous post: The error produced by Quicken 2012 is almost identical to that of the MS Money Sunset error--Quicken requires Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later tol run. The version of Windows that you are currently running is unsupported.

Re: Quicken 2012 Problem
I uninstalled Quicken 2012, then reinstalled it. Now I get this error at run time: "Quicken requires Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later to run. The version of windows that you are currently using is unsupported." When I run uname -a I get: Linux ThisPC 3.8.0-25-generic #37-Ubuntu SMP Thu Jun 6 20:47:07 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Note that mine is a 64-bit Linux. Can anyone help with this? I really need to be able to run Quicken!

In the appdb it's stated that you should use a pure 32 bit wineprefix (just allowing 32 bit windows appplications), for more information about prefixes see http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#wineprefix . Simplest way to do that, is move/rename your .wine directory, then run "WINEARCH=win32 winecfg", which will create a new .wine folder. Then reinstall quicken.
