Internal error: Failed to expand shell folder constant

Whenever I try to install ANY windows program through wine it brings up the error, "Internal error: Failed to expand shell folder constant "userdesktop"" It's getting really annoying as I can't even use Wine. I am running Mac OSX 10.6.8 and I have no idea what this error means and I was really hoping I could get some help.

have you tried making a fresh wineprefix (~/.wine) and just run a built in app like notepad first? Sounds like a registry error...
