Alt tab instead of quitting game?

I tried searching the net but didnt come up with anything conclusive. I play a few games in wine fullscreen and I cant alt tab to get back to ubuntu 13.04. Any workaround? And Is DX10/11 in the works? And is putting XP on wine better than win7?

Have you tried setting a virtual desktop with the same resolution as your screen? If you do that, it should behave the same way it does on fullscreen and you should be able to alt-tab.
