Can Wine be set to mimic Windows 7?

This is probably a dumb question, but can wine be set to mimc Windows 7 instead of Windows XP and what would need to changed or set using Winetricks and Wineconfig to make this happen. I'm still having difficulties with Civ 5 crashing and I was wondering if running Steam when Wine was mimicing Windows 7 and using Directx10 or 11 instead of Direct x9 would make a difference.

You can change the Windows version on the Applications tab in winecfg; however, Wine does not implement DX11 and the AppDB howto specifically notes that it doesn't work. http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.p ... &iId=21465
