Wacom Tablet Pressure, Photoshop CS2

Post by plantperson »

Hello all,
I have Photoshop CS2 up and running beautifully but the Wacom pen pressure isn't being processed correctly. If I set a brush to respond to pen pressure, it behaves as if the pressure is always 0. (That is, if pressure is tied to opacity, brush is invisible no matter what pressure I apply.) I know that the tablet support is working at least on a system level because it works properly in the native version of Blender.

Wine: v. 1.4.1
Tablet: Graphire 4 (CTE-440)
OS: CrunchBang Waldorf (Debian Wheezy based)

Not sure what other information would be useful. Thanks for any help!

Your Wine version is old; try upgrading to the latest development release.

Pressure sensitivity is known not to work in CS4 and later, but AFAIK it should work in CS2.

Well, I tried and failed to get the newest version up and running. I successfully compiled wine64 but it throws an error ("Your wine binary was not upgraded correctly, or you have an older one somewhere in your PATH. Or maybe the wrong wineserver is still running?") whenever I try to use it. I tried to compile 32-bit wine but I couldn't find helpful enough documentation to do that on this 64-bit system. Given that "get the newest version" is generally the first suggestion whenever it comes to Wine, there really ought to be an easier way to do that.

Anyway, unless someone has miracle suggestions, I guess I'll just wait until the next release I'm capable of installing and maybe then we can sort this out. :/
