change wine versions

HI there

I'm just installing a couple of games through Steam - Skyrim and Deus Ex Human Revolution.

The former requires dotnet installation and the latter requires a later version of wine to work properly but I've discovered that can't install dotnet through winetricks with wine >1.5 (it fails at 2.0 sp1).

I currently have 1.4.1 to complete the dotnet installation - can I now change to the newer version of wine without upsetting my dotnet installation?
