I'm new to wine, so excuse me if I ask questions that are already answered anywhere on the website. But I don't now for what exactly I have to search. I tried different terms in the search, but I've got no satisfying result.
My Problem: I've installed wine on debian 6 (squeeze) from the official sources. The wine version is 1.0.1.
I tried to install Ultima Online High Seas. But it hangs on the screen where I have to choose the install location. I've added two screenshots: The first is the step before I have to choose the install location, the second is the step (who would have thought that) where I have to choose the install location.
What happens is, that the screen does not update its content (if I open an other window in front of this dialog and close this window, the dialog shows the content of the closed window).
Like I said: I'm new to wine. So I have no idea where I have to begin my error-analysis. Does anybody knows such a problem? If not, how can i figure it out? Can I change DLLs? Are there special configuration parameters I can set? Can I enter a debug-mode that shows me more error-information?
I will be glad to get any tiny bit of information that can help me to solve this problem
But please, don't tell me I should use a newer Wine version 
My goal is to get this problem solved with the standard debian wine-version. Only if this seems to be impossible I will try a new wine-version.Kind regards and many thanks in advance,
