newbie trying out Linux Mint
Laptop: Lenovo T400
Printer/Scanner: Xerox Phaser 6121MFP: hard-wired to LAN

Have asked on multiple forums, whether there's anyway to print & scan since Xerox only publish a Windows version of their dashboard & drivers - the silence is deafening. I can print but, want to use all the functions of the device.

Question: anyone tried using WINE to install the drivers and dashboard SW for the Xerox networked multi-function printer?

The short answer is that Windows hardware drivers do not work in Wine. But since this is a network device, the longer answer is that a few years ago one user did report some success in getting a Canon network copier/scanner/printer to work in Wine by using native twain.dll. http://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2401

thanks dimesio - as a newbie, wouldn't know where to start. It's all a 'black art' ;-(

That said, I suppose a different answer would be to us a vm with windows installed?
