winetricks wmp9 or wmp10 fails

Post by etwineb »

The winetricks verb wmp9 (or 10) fails with this error message:
Microsoft Windows Media Player 7 or greater is required for this
installation. Please install Microsoft Windows Media Player then run this
setup again.
I am going to try to install WMP manually, but I think it is unexpected. Isn't it?

Edit:
No dice, I cannot find a way to install WMP. Any help is welcome.

Trying again without the -q flag another error appears:
Setup is currently unable to detect available updates. Please try
again later.
So possibly it is a temporary problem?

Both versions install fine here with winetricks. Make sure you have the latest development release of Wine and the latest version of winetricks.

It seems indeed it was a temporary problem. I guess some MS server was down causing the second message.
Thanks!
