m trying to run rainmeter on ubuntu 12.10. It installs fine but when i try to run it gives error....any help??

Try upgrading to the latest development release.

i've done sudo apt-get for installing wine and raindrop is also latest.

The latest wine version is 1.5.23 (devel). If you are using just the standard repos, you will get 1.4.1 (stable). The usual stable/unstable scheme does not really apply to wine, in general the latest devel version is preferable.
