Help needed Font anti-aliasing in Office 2010

Post by Francis4344 »

Hello everyone!

Just installed Office 2010 through Playonlinux. Total breeze!

But the screen fonts are downright unreadable.
I have installed the Microshlop fonts and enable antialiasing through PlayonLinux;

My registry shows this :

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop]
"FontSmoothing"="2"
"FontSmoothingType"=dword:0X00000002 (2)
"FontSmoothingGamma"=dword:0X00000578 (1400)
"FontSmoothingOrientation"=dword:0X00000001 (1)

When I look into winetricks (change settings), I checked font smoothing but whenever I go back to winetrick, they are unchecked. hmm..

I obvioulsy don't understand the hierarchy here as both winetricks and PlayonLinux offers to smooth the fonts but no success so far.

Why is this not working? Or How to get it to work properly?

Thanks!

The POL script for installing Office 2010 uses an outdated wine version and installs native dlls that are not needed. It is not supported here. If you insist on using it, ask for help on their forum.

If you want help here, reinstall in a clean wineprefix following the instructions in the AppDB. http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.p ... &iId=17336
