installing sound card driver

Post by theswan »

i am trying to play an old backyard baseball game using wine, and it opens really good, then i get to a point where an error comes up saying no sound card detected. so then i click on the wine glass up top and go to configuration, then to the audio tab, then it says clear as day, Selective driver: (None). How do i select a driver? its the last step to letting me play this game. i have been working on this for ever it seems. any help would be great! thanks.

Do you have sound under native linux applications? Maybe something is wrong with your linux installation. Do you have alsa and/or pulseaudio installed?

Please upgrade to latest wine (1.5.21), run from command line and post terminal output.

I believe most of the time Linux comes with Alsa.
