Why can't I open a graphic software downloaded in the web?

I want to use a graphic software which I have downloaded in his web page.
I have downloaded Wine 1.2.2.
I have taken the software's icon and I have put it in Wine/program files.
I have double-clicked on the software's icon. The software's name appeared in the dashboard. I waited for thirty seconds during whom nothing took place. After this thirty seconds, the software's name disappear of the dashboard and then nothing... I did the operation again and I got the same result at each time.
So why ?
Is it a bog or is it because of my computer or is it because my wine's version or is it because of my windows' version (windows XP)
Or is it for another reason ?

Your Wine version is very old and no longer supported. Upgrade to the latest development release.

It's not clear to me what you mean by putting the software's icon in Wine/program files. It sounds like you may be trying to run an app that has been installed in Windows, but not in Wine. You have to install it in Wine. http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#head-35dc1c1 ... 261f240d11
