I have tried to install, using the recommendation as given.
While Capture works okay (I didn't encounter any problem creating a basic circuit), the simulation itself (pspice) fails to work.
It displays an installation error about some incomplete installation; and asks me to run some binaries against the /regserver: PSpiceExplorerSrvr.exe, pspice.exe, SimSrvr.exe, simmgr.exe and mrksrvr.exe.
I did all, but no change.
Can anyone give me a hint on what is going wrong here, please, and how to rectify the situation?
Uwe
Cadence OrCAD 16.5 installs, pspice does not work

One should never reply to one's own post ... .
In case someone might need this: I had Capture working until I installed MS Office. With MS Office it is necessary to set riched20.dll to 'native' (PowerPoint), and then Capture dies while loading. So better set this library application-specific.
