can't run any programs in wine 1.4.1

Hello, i'm having a hard time trying to run programs on wine. The only program i've been able to run is PokerStars. I'm not sure but I think this issue is related to my graphic card driver. For example when i try to launch Call of Duty 4, I get the following stdoutput:

then there is a register dump and a stack dump and other odd looking debug info.
Can someone help me out? I'd really like to play on my linux system
