I'm having a problem with the last few versions of wine. When using steam to buy games, once a game has been added to the cart, clicking on "Purchase for myself" results in the next page not loading and cpu usage being maxed out while nothing happens. Bits of the next page may eventually load, but most of the elements will be missing, and the page appears to not be encrypted if the red x in the steam address bar is to be believed.
Lots of these lines being spammed.

More info. I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit, 12 gigs of ram, nvidia gtx260 video card with official drivers. I've also tried wine 1.5.8, 1.5.9 and 1.5.10. Same result

Vitamin, while I will of course do that in the meantime, considering that I was at one time able to buy games via steam under wine and that I now cannot, this does qualify as a bug, does it not?

That's the same problem for me. Buying games within Steam client on Wine worked before but with those mentioned releases of Wine it doesn't work at all or is very problematic.
I don't see a bug report in AppDB page of Steam regarding this issue.
