You bastard... I saw this topic and got excited that someone in closed beta had it working.

I am more than eagerly awaiting this! I already have my collectors edition ordered and awaiting open Beta, I am going to be most upset if I have to reinstall windows on my laptop for it

Hi,

I also got exited when i read this topic. But I thought that someone has better results than me. I'am Closed Beta-tester of WAR and I also tried to install it on Wine 1.0 rc3.
At the moment it is not working, but it's the Beta-Client, so this could explain many things.

My Results:
It installes without problems. But it's not running, because the Beta-Client needs some logins for the patch process. If it wants to start the patch programm, it says that it couldn't start it. Without the patch-programm the WAR won't start.

I'll try it with 1.0rc5

Please post back your results. From what you are saying the patcher is not working? So the client would not run as well?

Heinrich... let me guess, Kremmler? haha, I used to run a fairly large (16k pts) undead army including all the characters.

I have my CE pre-order and am awaiting the open beta unless I am lucky enough to get into the closed beta. In the meantime still playing World of Warcraft with my guild (we have about 20+ people coming to WAR, already pre-ordered)

Well, the patcher is just not starting. It says:...patcher couldn't be started...Its no message from wine, its a message from WAR.
Nevertheless I have to run the patcher, because I only can start the game from there.

edit: Just a thought, could it be an problem with fat32? I`ve installed the game on an External-USB-HDD because the client is too big for my local-HDD.
