Wine trying to start applications eg. Windows Notepad/IE

Post by jiewmeng »

I find that when I try to open files like .md (markdown) or .html, Notepad or IE trys to open. And for the case of IE, it seems to lag my computer, how can I prevent any Wine apps from starting like these? Esp IE ... just lags my computer opening up many processes making it hard to stop

By changing the file associations in your file manager. If your distro
uses Nautilus (and most Gnome based distros and those using desktops
derived from Gnome do), right click on the filename and select
Properties. The 'Open with' tab lets you change the default application
for a file type as well as adding or removing applications on the list.
