This error occurs under multiple different windows programs, and different versions of wine, including Alpha Centauri, sumotori, and Space Station Manager (predecessor to ShortHike). The only application that has not done this is Rollercoaster Tycoon 2. I don't run applications from the terminal often, but this doesn't seem to occur to any other program.
