Counter-Strike 1.6 extremely slow

Counter-Strike 1.6 extremely slow

Counter-Strike 1.6 is extremely slow for me, say, one frame per ten seconds.

I am running Wine on Arch Linux 64 bits, I created my Wine prefix using

WINEARCH=win32 winecfg
This is my direct rendering log:

When I'm "playing," both hl.exe and wineserver use 100% CPU.

Has it ever been faster? Nothing will run well in GNU/Linux if you
don't have a NVIDIA or ATI card because the open source drivers for
the other graphic boards are way too slow in performance comparing to
the Windows drivers. Anyone can correct if I'm wrong.

I can correct you: other games such as OpenArena or Urban Terror work well.

I had the same problem. Arch Linux, x86_64, a Nvidia video card. Counter-Strike 1.6 became like 100 times slower even in its menu. I resolved it by downgrading to
linux 3.2.13-1
lib32-nvidia-utils 295.33-1
