Guild Wars very slow

Post by ArtooDetoo »

Hello,

I want to play Guild Wars on my Debian Wheezy System.
Installing worked but it runs at about 1fps, unplayable.
My Graphics adapter is "Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller" and I use wine 1.5.0.
Can someone help me?

Best regards, R2

My best advice is spend $30 and get a bottom of the line current
generation nVidia graphics card. Obviously that will only work if you
have a desktop computer.. After you get the nVidia fermi card use the
nvidia binary drivers not the open source drivers.

Make sure, you've got recent intel drivers, that should be version 2.17 (2.18).

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/inte ... 07516.html
recommends to run Guild Wars with command line options "-dx8 -noshaders".

also see http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.p ... n&iId=9194

Hi ArtooDeetoo,

did GW run better with older wine versions? Are your intel drivers up-to-date?

Please run the game from command line with the options and post the terminal output. Appdb mentions two more options "-dsound" and "-nosound", you could try them too. Appdb also recommends to set UseGLSL=disabled in wine's registry.

Hi,

please post terminal output again including command. Do you still get that "Direct rendering is disabled" message? Did you try "-nosound"? What is your alsa version?
