wine not working

I'm new, so sorry if this is a bad question..
When I try to use wine, it says loading in the taskbar for a few seconds then nothing happens.
The log file says:
fixme:heap:HeapSetInformation (nil) 1 (ni1) 0

and it says that 11 times

I'm am using version 1.2.3
Version 1.3 also did not work.

Those messages are not a problem.

What are you trying to do with wine? You have to be specific.

Does 'wine notepad' work?
