Wow patch issue

Mepis 11, 9600GT, 3GB RAM, Wine 1.3.37.

I'm trying to download the patch that came out Tuesday. All I get is the WOW badge with "Launcher connecting to Patch Server ..." Except that it's not. The latest entries in the 'Launcher.log' is:

Quite some time ago there was a permission issue, but I thought we were past that. Does anyone have any idea what this one is about and what I should do about it?

This turned out to be something of a red herring. I found a post on Blizzard's Support site that said to start problem patching by deleting or moving the following directories: WTF, Cache, and Interface. I moved them. Starting the Launcher.exe seems to have accomplished its job before it went South again (won't restart).

Consider this issue solved.
