Wine 1.0 RC3 and Garena

Hi everyone, Im having troubles getting the Garena client running in wine (www.gg-game.com). It startsup fine, downloads updates, but gets stuck on the section - "checking client version". While its checking client version i get a heap of entries in terminal saying:

fixme:ntdll:NtLockFile I/O completion on lock not implemented yet

Then i get a msg box "login timeout, please try again later".

Im not sure what that error means or if it has something to do with my problem, many other users say Garena works out of the box with wine so im not sure wahts wrong. Could it be file permissions? I noticed that it doesnt save certain options on the login screen (server choice, password etc).

Any help would be appreciated.

i also have difficulties with garena version 2.4 (the newest from today). i run ubuntu 7.10 and wine 1.0 rc3.
from the time on i start garena with wine i get the message-dialog

"You were unable to host game/join host because your firewall/anti-virus has blocked your access",

i can click ok, but it just pops up once again.
when i ignore it and want to login it just do nothing.
perhaps the console-output will help:

oh, the last 4 lines are outputted, when i click the ok button of the message-dialog.
i searched for acceptex.. there is a patch written for warcraft 3, but it doesnt seem to work. perhaps its too old?

you can bypass the login screen reinstalling Garena, yet that same message wont let you start a game...

apparently, compatibility with wine isn't broken, must be an update issue (I see windows users also complaining at their forum)

bypassing the login screen doesnt realy solve the problem. in first case i want to play network games :\
isnt there any hint about what could be wrong in the console output i posted?

then i guess i have to wait for a new patch, dammit

didnt work for me but... try setting TCP and UDP ports to 0 (zero) at the login screen... (saw this hint in gg forum)

well, i downloaded and installed; then i also was able to login. How exactly can i reproduce the bug? It seems to start and work here just fine so far. Or do i have to join a game? Especially i don't see these lines:

i'm not able to login. i've just installed garena, patched it and then tried to login.
is your garena version 2.4?

I had the firewall block problem (where it just keeps coming up) and so i decided to uninstall and reinstall. But now it wont even open up, wat could be wrong?

Garena publishes it's email address, so you should tell them that you
would like native Linux support. Here is the address that they
publish:
support[at]mail.garena.com

Let them know that you have tried wine but that you are having problems.

strange... wine up to version 0.9.45 works well along the acceptEx issue, was wondering why couldnt create games on battlenet, that solved...

anyway, garena doesn't work on this version

well after 1.22 patch and reinstall the new gg-client and delete the skin dir i finally managed to pass the login screen no firewall errors etc... BUT when i press the "start game" button gg-client minimize and nothing happens... :/

i get the followings...

ok i managed to pass the first line now i only have this errors

Hmm I have managed to get into garena and launch war3.exe when clicking "Start Game". But I haven't been able to join any games after that (I get a "Fatal Error" dialog box in Warcraft regarding memory inaccessibility), and games I host are unjoinable.

The way I managed to launch war3.exe was by manually opening Frozen Throne.exe and then closing it after it launches. Then I press "Start Game" in garena and for some reason it works!
