Re: Wine cannot connect to internet/network
What version of Wine? If it's not the latest development release, upgrade. If you are on a 64 bit distro, read this: http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#head-f000601 ... d6dfba8cbegerstavros wrote:Hi. I suspect 1.3.37 specifically in the openSUSE repo is broken.
Noticed my process of elimination in my comments about steam network not working:

Thanks for this realisation.

broken on two different systems?:/ and i have disabled the firewall on bothvitamin wrote:Then your Wine is broken. Or your system has some rules that prevent Wine from talking to the network.gerstavros wrote:every app,i tried ~20 apps
To solve (1) - compile Wine yourself. For (2) disable all firewall, selinux, etc.

In either case compile Wine yourself from source. Pay attention to all missing libraries and install them.
