Arena Simulation problems in Wine 1.2.3

Hey everyone,

I'm running a fresh installation of Wine 1.2.3 under Ubuntu 11.04. I've successfully installed Arena Simulation (version 12.0, under a student license), software by Rockwell Automation. However, when I try to run the program, this comes up (click for full size):



The warning pops up at least five times.

Arena is not on AppDB, and I'm at a loss at what to do. Any suggestions?

First, I would suggest you install the latest version of wine, 1.3.26 I believe.

If that doesn't fix it, make sure the screendump is large enough to be readable.

You might try changing the version of Windows and running the program in a terminal. Sometimes an error message will identify a missing library or some other obvious problem.

I've changed to the most recent version of WINE, and am getting different errors.

Make sure to (re)move wineprefix and reinstall your program after Wine upgrade. If this won't work, try native oleaut32.dll (install with winetricks).

Uninstalling and reinstalling Arena seemed to do the trick, and now it runs out of the box. Thank you for all of your help!

When I installed Arena 12 cpr 9 with a student license. I saw the error message RsiTPInfo030000.dll RSIXML06000.dll were missing. I installed on windows 7 to compare and had the same error. I tried re-installing/repair, without improvement.

I extracted these two files from the data.cab file. Arena works fine now.

I tried to inform rockwell automation, but they have no support for students. I couldn't find a way to even report a problem without a contract. +1 for open source simulators.

i'd also prefer to use a native simulator software, but I use Arena Software in college ...
