installing canon printer driver

I am a new ubuntu user and am trying to install my printer, everything seems to be installing correctly until I get a runtime error,

Program:Z:\media\canon_I\win\driver\x86\drvsetup\setup.exe

The error reads:

The application has requested runtime to terminate in an unusual way

I click OK

Then the program closes!

You can not install printer drivers in wine. Install your printer in
linux instead. This probably involves setting up the printer in cups.
